POLLUTANTS MONITORING AND CONTROL
(Bachelor degree)
Measuring instruments of the main process variables: temperature, pressure,
level, flowrate, chemical composition. Valves: types and functions.
Elements of combustion: fuels, combustion chemistry, burning technologies,
main pollutants.
Basics of process control: the control loop, types of controllers,
control strategies and hierarchy, alarms.
Technical documentation of process plants and control systems: block
diagram, process flow diagram, engineering line diagram, instrumentation
flowsheet.
Study of a process as an exemplary case: pollutants generation, facilities
for pollutants abatement, monitoring and control techniques, waste management.
